HJ Security completed a large-scale 16-channel Hikvision CCTV installation at a property in Mambong Hillock, Kuching. This comprehensive surveillance project covers a sizeable rural property with multiple buildings and a large compound area requiring complete monitoring.
Project Overview
Mambong Hillock is a rural area outside Kuching that presents unique installation challenges including longer cable runs between buildings, outdoor camera exposure to tropical weather conditions, and the need for comprehensive perimeter monitoring of a large landholding.
System Specification
16-Channel NVR System
A Hikvision 16-channel NVR with 6TB RAID storage provides the backbone of this surveillance system, offering extended recording capacity for the large number of cameras installed.
Camera Placement
- Main Residence – Front, rear and side coverage with dome cameras
- Gate & Driveway – Entry monitoring with licence plate visibility
- Compound Perimeter – Bullet cameras covering the full land boundary
- Outbuildings – Coverage of secondary structures and storage
- Garden & Open Areas – Wide-angle coverage of outdoor spaces
Night Vision Coverage
All 16 cameras equipped with IR night vision or ColorVu technology ensuring complete 24/7 monitoring capability across the entire property even in complete darkness.
Technical Challenges Overcome
Long Cable Runs
Some cameras required cable runs exceeding 80 metres. We used high-quality Cat6 cable with PoE extenders where necessary to maintain signal quality over long distances.
Outdoor Weatherproofing
All outdoor cameras and junction boxes were installed with appropriate weatherproofing to handle Sarawak's heavy rainfall and humidity conditions.
