Green Glass Folding Autogate Installation Kuching | Remote Controlled System
HJ Security installed a remote-controlled folding autogate system for a unique green glass panel gate at a residential property in Kuching, Sarawak. Glass panel gates present unique automation challenges that require specialized knowledge and hardware.
About Glass Panel Gate Automation
Glass panel gates - typically using tempered or frosted glass infill within a metal frame - have become popular in modern Kuching homes for their contemporary aesthetic. The glass panels add significant weight compared to grille gates, requiring careful motor selection and gentle operation settings.
Special Considerations for Glass Gates
Weight Calculation
Glass is considerably heavier than equivalent steel grille panels. We carefully calculated the total gate weight including glass panels, metal frame, and all hardware to select an appropriately rated motor with adequate safety margin.
Gentle Operation Settings
The motor settings were configured for gentle acceleration and deceleration to prevent mechanical stress on the glass panels during gate operation. Sudden starts and hard stops are eliminated through careful limit and speed adjustment.
Folding Gate Mechanism
The bi-fold gate mechanism allows the gate to fold back on itself, requiring only half the wall space of a standard swing gate. This space-saving approach works perfectly for properties with limited driveway depth.
